WHAT ABOUT TAIPEI?
I have been there 3 times now. The first two running errands in public offices (embassy, etc.) with Ignacio, the third one was our first outing for the three of us, last Sunday. For what we have seen, Taipei is way nicer than Chung-li. It could be that we have been in the nice places (embassies and museums are usually in the best part of town, right?). Regardless, it has very nice parts and tons and tons of things to see and do. You actually have sidewalks! (although don’t be surprised if while walking on the sidewalk a motorcycle’s front wheel gets right by your butt --or legs, depending on your height-- as to “suggest” that you are in the way). The train /high speed train /subway station is crazy! The subway is extremely nice: new and clean, due to the fact that people are not allowed to even drink water while in the station. Taipei is in a valley, surrounded by green mountains (they look more like high hills), which gives it a very picturesque look. Of course, there is people everywhere, and tons of them! But maybe there are more motorcycles than people…not sure.
